New new cover!

I am ecstatic about the new cover for Endless Summer, the sequel to The Boys Next Door! What do you think?

"What happened to the old cover?" you may ask.

I love the old cover and all the romantic comedy covers that Amy Saidens has drawn. However, Simon Pulse decided, and I agree, that they look young in today's market compared with other covers. They don't reflect the age level of the books. So they redesigned the cover, and man, I really think I lucked out.

They seem to think so too. They are so thrilled with the looks of the book that they have moved the publication date up from August 3 to May 25. I think this is terrific because the book takes place from the night The Boys Next Door ends in the middle of June until the Fourth of July. It's definitely a beach read, and May is a better release month for that.

Also, the book is still paperback, but it's going to be trade size = large, Marge, rather than mass market size = small like The Boys Next Door.

And finally, The Boys Next Door is going to be reprinted in the volume with Endless Summer. If Amazon is correct, the whole book is going to have 608 pages. To put this in perspective, my copy of Ulysses has 650.

It is going to be a Big Honking Book. I'm so excited!

In news of old covers...my husband took this pic in a Books A Million on a business trip to Texas.

Books A Million has always been very kind about stocking my books, and I was gratified to see that this store stocked three of the four out now. Thank you, Books A Million, and thank you, husband. I AM HUGE IN WACO!

My final bit of news is that the completed manuscript of my 2008 NaNoWriMo book is off to my agent. I am in love with this book. Historically this is not a good sign. Please cross your fingers and toes for me.
