The Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit presents Teri Brown!

Read My Lips

Popularity is as easy as a good secret.

Serena just wants to fly under the radar at her new school. But Serena is deaf, and she can read lips really well—even across the busy cafeteria. So when the popular girls discover her talent, there’s no turning back.

From skater chick to cookie-cutter prep, Serena’s identity has done a 180…almost. She still wants to date Miller, the school rebel, and she’s not ready to trade her hoodies for pink tees just yet. But she is rising through the ranks in the school’s most exclusive clique.

With each new secret she uncovers, Serena feels pressure to find out more. Reading lips has always been her greatest talent, but now Serena just feels like a gigantic snoop...

Jenn: What would be the ideal spring break for some of your characters? The one they'd remember fondly for the rest of their lives?

Teri: Well, the girls in the secret Society would love to go to Cabo or Florida. I think Serena would like to spend the week training with Tony Hawk!

Jenn: Do your characters go on any road trips? What are they looking for?

Teri: Nope, no road trips and the only thing my characters are looking for is gossip and dirt. Serena, my main character is looking for acceptance.

Jenn: Describe your worst spring break ever.

Teri: HA! A friend and I skipped school the week before spring break in junior high (yes, the entire week!) We got busted on the last day and we both spent our spring breaks grounded! The worst one ever!

Jenn: Describe your best spring break ever.

Teri: The week before our spring break when we were skipping school! We spent every day at a small secluded lake by our houses and we swam and had picnics every day. So it wasn’t really a spring break, but it was the best one we’d ever had!
