The Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit presents Stacy DeKeyser!

JUMP THE CRACKS
By Stacy DeKeyser

“The Hand must have called the police. Maybe she’d changed her mind, and now she wanted William back, but she was too scared to admit she left him alone on the train, so she’s claiming that he’s been kidnapped.”

When fifteen-year-old Victoria witnesses what she believes to be child neglect on a train to New York, she makes a split-second decision and takes the young boy with her on the next train out in order to protect him. But, in her effort to make sure the child doesn’t slip through the cracks and end up back with the neglectful parents, she’s unwittingly branded a kidnapper and is forced to stay on the run until she can clear her name.

JUMP THE CRACKS is a fast-paced, suspense-driven thriller set in motion when a young girl is forced to confront the fine line between doing the legal thing and doing the right thing. Debut novelist Stacy DeKeyser offers a memorable and honest portrayal of a teen whose efforts to take on a child’s demons leads her to take on her own in the process.

Jenn: What would be the ideal spring break for some of your characters? The one they'd remember fondly for the rest of their lives?

Stacy: For Victoria, it would NOT be going to the Grand Canyon. I think she'd either want to spend a few days shopping and eating pretzels in New York City, or stay home and go to the pool with her friends.

Jenn: Do your characters go on any road trips? What are they looking for?

Stacy: The whole book is a road trip, basically. Well, a train trip anyway. Victoria is trying to buy time, so she can figure out how to help Wills, the little boy she finds herself in charge of.

Jenn: Describe your worst spring break ever.

Stacy: One year we got about two feet of snow and Opening Day of the baseball season was cancelled because they couldn't shovel out the stadium in time. I'm not sure which was worse -- missing the game or dealing with all that snow in April!

Jenn: Describe your best spring break ever.

Stacy: Another year, instead of snow, we had temperatures in the 80's. Ahhh...!
