Drum roll, please...

CONGRATULATIONS to my critique partner Catherine Chant for finaling in the YA category of the Golden Heart for Wishing You Were Here!!! I heard the calls would go out today, and I kind of hinted around about this to her yesterday and asked if she's going to the ceremony. I was that sure she would final. This manuscript has won pretty much every chapter contest available, and it's absolutely beautiful.

For those of you who aren't members of Romance Writers of America...you may wonder why there is a lot of squealing on the internet today. We consider the Golden Heart the highest honor for an unpublished romance author and the RITA the highest honor for a pubbed author. We refer to the posh awards ceremony in July as "like the Academy Awards...only bigger" because romance authors tend to be a bit weightier than Oscar-nominated actresses. My other CP Victoria Dahl won the Golden Heart in 2005 and sold that manuscript the following year. What can I say? I have very good taste in CPs. :)

Here's hoping the upcoming year holds similar good news for Catherine. An editor needs to take note and snatch this baby up.

YOU GO GIRL!
