Goings-on at Southern Magic

Here's my friend Christy Reece at Saturday's meeting. Her first three romantic suspense novels will be published by Ballantine in February, March, and April 2009. These super-cool shirts are available from Valley Forge RWA, but I think I like last year's design better (scroll down on their page).

We have some cool online workshops coming up. The deadline to register for fashionista_35's class "Working the Net to Make the Net Work for You" is this week, so visit Southern Magic for more info.

The Readers' Luncheon on November 3 with keynote speaker Sherrilyn Kenyon is sold out, but everyone is welcome to the booksigning at 3 p.m. in the Homewood Public Library. Here's a list of authors signing.

And last but not least, if you're a YA author but you've hesitated to enter the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence because you expect the category to be canceled, fear not. I received the required five entries for the category to make in the first week or something. It will not be canceled. There are nine other categories too. More info and a downloadable entry form here. You can pay via check or PayPal. We are that easy.
