This was nice to find out

You Are 23 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

The cashier at the convenience store down the hill still cards me, too. But I think this is just good for his business.

You smell like a zoo

I’m in training for the Birmingham Zoo 10K on May 12. “In training” of course means “running a little farther every day and trying not to hurt myself.” The course starts at the zoo, and I hope it winds through the beautiful upscale neighborhoods of Mountain Brook. But I’m afraid it might circle around and around the small zoo instead. The wisteria blossoms framing the tiger exhibit smell great but do not quite cover the odor of elephant poo.

This morning I ran four miles along the Shades Creek trail. Really it was more like running an obstacle course, because Shades Creek flooded last night and left large sections of the trail six inches deep in mud. Stinky mud. In essence, I have run through elephant poo regardless. Good-bye, white Nikes.

Lucked into this one!

I just got the summer 2006 catalog from Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing. There I am, on page 153! But the best news of all is this. Guess what's on the COVER of the catalog?

I'm telling you, the marching band's time is nigh. My finger is on the pulse of the nation, yo.
