Go band go!

Heard this cool song in the car just now, by Saving Jane:

"She is the prom queen
I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader
I'm sitting in the stands
I get a little bit
She gets a little more
She's Miss America
And I'm just the girl next door."

Could it be that after eons of trying, I have inadvertently written about something...POPULAR???

Don't worry, Jane. In twenty years, she may be a lawyer, but you'll get your novel published.

Playing Dirty

I have about 6,000 words on the new adult romantic comedy. The soundtrack so far:

Rascal Flatts--These Days
Deana Carter--Strawberry Wiiiiiiiiiiiiine (heartily made fun of in the book, for Reasons That Will Become Clear)
Don Henley & Bruce Hornsby--The End of the Innocence
Spin Doctors--Jimmy Olson's Blues
Saving Jane--Girl Next Door
Audioslave--Doesn't Remind Me
Foo Fighters--Best of You
Black Eyed Peas--Pump It
Nickelback--Figured You Out
Bo Bice--The Real Thing
3 Doors Down--Here by Me
Rascal Flatts--Bless the Broken Road

As I write, I will try to put in some good jokes for cchant, some smut for victoria_dahl, and a Third Alternative for nephele. I have already put in a band geek for myself.

Everyone go say happy birthday to Marley (Dec 28--oops!).
