The Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit presents Megan Kelley Hall!

THE LOST SISTER takes a chilling look at what happens when hazing pushes someone too far...

Sisters are born, not chosen...
Maddie Crane is grappling with the disappearance of Cordelia LeClaire, and trying to escape the grasp of The Sisters of Misery—an insidious clique of the school’s most powerful girls, whose pranks have set off a chain of horrific events, and who have Maddie in their sights…

Beware the sister betrayed...
Now in a prestigious boarding school far away from her mysterious hometown of Hawthorne, Massachusetts , Maddie feels free from danger. But when an unmarked envelope arrives at her dorm containing a single ominous tarot card, Maddie realizes with terror that some secrets won’t stay buried. Knowing she must return to Hawthorne—a town still scarred by the evil of the Salem witch trials—Maddie prepares to face the fears of her past...and the wrath of the sister she wronged.

Jenn: In my book The Ex Games, Hayden has to overcome her fear of heights to make it as a professional snowboarder. What are your characters afraid of, and how do they conquer their fears?

Megan: Maddie has to overcome her fear of her friends and fitting in. She has a big task, because the Sisters of Misery are pretty scary girls. She also needs to have the strength to stand up to bullies and mean girls. She needs to learn to stick up for herself and what she believes in.

Jenn: What has been your greatest fear as a writer, and how have you dealt with it?

Megan: Bad reviews. Disappointing my readers. Not being able to keep writing, because no matter how many people love your books, if your sales aren’t what you publisher wants, it’s very hard to keep writing. (Or at least getting your book published.) That’s the ugly downside of this industry. Everything comes down to numbers and sales figures.

Jenn: In The Ex Games, Hayden goes head-to-head with her ex-boyfriend in a snowboarding challenge. Are you involved in any sports? How do you think being a woman has affected you as an athlete?

Megan: I am not an athlete. I enjoy skiing, ice skating, swimming, rollerblading (long walks on the beach, watching sunsets….wait, what website am I on right now?) I’m amazed by my daughter who can pick up any sport (soccer, basketball, bike riding, gymnastics, swimming) and excel in it. She definitely gets her athleticism from my husband.

Jenn: For good or ill, I design my own web site. Who designed yours? What’s your favorite part of your web site that you wish more people would visit?

Megan: I designed my site, but I’m not a huge fan of it. I really like the website I designed for my publicity company, Kelley & Hall Book Publicity. I LOVE the way that site came out. Check it out here.

Jenn: What’s your favorite gizmo advertising your book?

Megan: I like the slideshow I created for SISTERS OF MISERY. It’s on my MySpace page.

Megan, thanks so much for sharing, and good luck with the new release!
